Joy Rose is the NOW-NYC Susan B. Anthony award recipient for 2009 Presented by Council Member Helen Sears, on behalf of New York City Council, this Certificate of Recognition And Gratitude was presented to Joy Rose In Founding MAMAPALOOZA and The Museum Of Motherhood, Which Promotes Mothers For Social, Cultural and Economic Benefit - And for Her Tireless Efforts In Capturing the Voices Of Feminist Mothers, and by NOW-NYC In Recognition of Her Grassroots Activism and Dedication To Advancing Equality and Improving The Lives Of Women And Girls In New York City.
Moms Who Rock Award 2009 Annette Daniels Taylor is a playwright, actor, singer, poet, teaching artist and storyteller. Annette a native of the forgotten New York City borough of Staten Island started her performance career in her mama’s bedroom. She went on to receive a scholarship to attend the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. Along with husband, fine artist Rodney Taylor, children Mingus, Haven, Bleu Ruby and Winter Sky, she left New York City for Buffalo. Daniels Taylor has performed at La Mama, the Apollo Theater, The Albright Knox Art Gallery. and is Director of Theater Education for The Buffalo Ensemble Theatre, writer-in-resident at The Langston Hughes Institute and has been a teaching artist with The Arts In Education Institute, The African American Cultural Center, Irish Classical Theatre Company, Studio Arena and Theater of Youth. She is also co-founder of Down In My Soul Productions a theatrical production company. She is currently a part of The Road Less Traveled Theatre’s New Play Playwrights Workshop where she is feverishly trying to complete her latest writing project A Little Bit of Paradise as well as recording a new CD of soul inspired love songs with DJ Reazon. Life & Legacy Award 2009: Adele M. Fico learned a long time ago that a happy actor is a working actor. She began BelleAdele Productions in 2004. Her regional and national credits include performances for Nickelodeon, the Nashville Network, Eastman Kodack. American Redcross, The Humane Society and more. She has worked with many theaters and production companies including: TYKES - Theatre Young Kids Enjoy, Rochester Children's Theatre, Blackfriars Theatre, Shipping Dock Theatre, JCC CenterStage, The Great Atlantic Picture Company, Franklin Productions in Boston, and Zaidlin Productions in Toronto. She is one of the founding members of and the former Producing Artistic Director of the popular sketch comedy troupe, EstroFest aka: Girls Just Want To Have Fun! Ms. Fico has been performing her one-woman show May God Strike Me Dead... if I'm telling a lie! to SRO audiences since summer 2004.more...

Life & Legacy Award 2008: Shirley Alston Reedes & The Shirelles; Award presented in Seneca Falls, NY. Ms. Reeves also co-starred in the Rock 'n' Roll film with the Shirelles "Let The Good Times Roll." All time Shirelle favorites include "Tonight's The Night" (penned by Ms. Reeves), "Baby It's You", the soulful sounding "This Is Dedicated To The One I Love", "Foolish Little Girl", and, of course, the group's 5 million selling hit "Soldier Boy". This particular song touched so many lives and hearts. 1996 Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer Shirley Alston Reeves is loved by all who have had the pleasure of meeting and hearing her golden vocals. Her show is designed to please even the toughest musical appetites.
Local Mother Of The Year Award 2008: Robin Voorheis, Seneca Falls. Sadly Robin passed away on May 30th, 2008. Her entire family mourns her passing. She was buried with her Mother Of The Year Award Plaque which held great meaning for her and her family. She is remembered by her loving husband Stacy, and her two beautiful children Rachel, and Nicky. God(dess) Bless.
