At this year's concert the mamas are giving the papas a chance to take the stage. The Mydols have challenged The Grateful Dads to a third rock off during MamapaZooza. The audience will decide who rocks harder, moms or dads, by clapping for their favorite band. The first Rock-Off between the Mydols and The Grateful Dads occured at the MOCAD Family Hootenanny on July 19, 2009. There The Grateful Dads won by applause.
The second match, which occured two months later at the Ferndale DIY Street Fair, was a tie. The Mydols hope to win on their home turf by playing a blend of familiar family-friendly covers like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Catch a Falling Star," to originals like "Hula Twist," "Rocket Robot" and "Dinosaur Rock."
The Grateful Dads are a loosely-formed band of local guys who play everything from bass to bongoes, mostly in order to get out of the house once a week for "band practice."

We Started On One Stage In 2002
The first MaMapalooza event took place on a single stage in Manhattan in 2002. One concert grew to many and gave birth to a grass roots movement of global proportions, putting women, mothers and families at the center of every experience and raising awareness of their value as consumers and constituents.
MaMapalooza Festivals and Events use arts, culture and education as a hub for social outreach and empowerment. With talent and event content provided by an ever- growing roster of artists, musicians, comics & authors complimented by women-owned businesses, and social services we pack six large-scale venues in major metropolitan areas for the MaMapalooza Festival every May. We also host over 40 additional stages throughout the month, including clubs, theaters, universities and coffee houses in communities ranging from Mankato, MN and Columbus, OH to Sidney, Australia.
Our Values
Mamapalooza content elevates the status of women. We take a holistic approach honoring and celebrating the mind, body, spirit and economics of being a mom. Through connection and participation, women can develop their own narrative, bear witness to the sustaining spiritual and emotional content of their lives, and create change to the benefit of successive generations.
Our Media, Our Buzz
MaMapalooza uses local talent , volunteers, partners, governments and business & cultural institutions to draw attention to events in each market. Because of our great relationships and reputation, we maintain beneficial and ongoing online, radio, tv and print partnerships that generate huge awareness of the MaMapalooza brand.
MaMapalooza is the only online and real-life organization that offers multiple platforms for advertisers to reach target audiences of women and moms through uniquely branded mom-made entertainment. We connect your brand with a worldwide movement that positively affects the way modern women think about themselves, are perceived, and impact the world through art, culture, education and business.
